Embrace and CCCL Launch Joint Psychosocial Support Program for Pediatric Cancer Patients

Beirut:Embrace and the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to introduce a psychosocial support program. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive mental health care for children and adolescents receiving cancer treatment, along with psychological support for their parents and caregivers.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the partnership leverages CCCL's expertise in pediatric cancer care and wellness services, combined with Embrace's specialization in psychotherapy and psychiatry. With backing from AG Fund, the program is set to offer enhanced psychosocial support to newly enrolled patients and their primary caregivers, ensuring access to appropriate emotional and mental health resources throughout the treatment process.

Newly enrolled patients and their primary caregivers will undergo an initial follow-up to assess their psychosocial needs, leading to tailored support offerings. The services provided include individual and group support sessions, psychiatric evaluations when necessary, dedicated caregiver support, crisis response pathways, and access to the National Lifeline 1564, managed by Embrace in collaboration with the National Mental Health Programme.

This collaboration underscores a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for children and families affected by cancer in Lebanon. Both organizations aim to develop an integrated model of psychosocial care within pediatric oncology, ensuring families do not face the emotional challenges of cancer alone.
