Energy Minister Seeks Suspension of Fuel Fee Amid Rising Oil Prices

Tripoli:Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi announced his intention to request the Cabinet to either cancel or suspend the LBP 300,000 fuel fee during its session on Thursday.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Saddi communicated via X that the primary goal is to alleviate the financial pressure on citizens as global oil prices soar, impacting Lebanon significantly.

Saddi emphasized that the ministry had initially objected to the imposition of the fee, highlighting the necessity to prioritize reducing the economic burden on the population.
