FENASOL Condemns Israeli Aggression and Calls for International Trade Union Action

Beirut: FENASOL has issued a strong statement condemning the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, highlighting the severe impact on civilians, including children, infants, and families in their homes. The federation criticized the blatant violation of international law and humanitarian conventions, as well as the targeting of residential areas in towns such as Kfar Rumman, Deir al Zahrani, and Nabatieh.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, FENASOL's statement emphasized the serious nature of these crimes against civilians and their detrimental effects on people's lives, security, and livelihoods. The organization also denounced the attacks on government institutions, including the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture, and the assault on an employee of the Ministry of Labor. These actions were seen as an attack on the state, society, and the Lebanese people's rights to life, work, and public services.

FENASOL further condemned the targeting of hospitals, health centers, medical staff, and journalists, stressing that such assaults endanger the lives of those providing essential services and fulfilling their professional duties. The statement extended condolences to the families of victims and emphasized the importance of valuing human life and dignity above political and military calculations.

The statement held the international community responsible for the continuation of these crimes and called for an immediate cessation of aggression, protection of civilians, and accountability for those responsible. FENASOL appealed to the European and international trade union movement to pressure their governments to halt political and military support for the aggression and protect civilians and essential workers.

FENASOL's call to action urged trade unions to organize demonstrations and demand the cessation of violence, stressing that verbal solidarity is insufficient when children's lives and essential services are under threat. The organization called on workers worldwide to unite in stopping the aggression and protecting civilians and humanitarian workers in Lebanon.
