Beirut: Five explosions were heard west of Iran's coastal city of Bandar Abbas near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, Iranian state television reported.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the broadcaster provided no further details. The area has been targeted by US strikes in recent days amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington over control of the strategic waterway.
