Former President Lahoud Calls for Lebanon to Withdraw from Talks with Israel

Beirut: Former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud praised the Lebanese Army commander for what he described as the "honorable stance" of the military delegation, which withdrew to avoid being photographed alongside the Israeli delegation. He expressed hope that the entire Lebanese delegation would also withdraw from the negotiations.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Lahoud argued that Israel is not seeking a truce or peace but is instead attempting to weaken Lebanon's resistance through negotiations and provoke internal divisions. He also claimed that Iran had achieved a "strategic victory" that forced the United States and Israel to accept a new reality, concluding that steadfast confrontation remains the only effective approach in dealing with Israel.
