Geagea Meets New Ukrainian Ambassador, Local Municipal Delegations

Maarab: Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea, on Wednesday met at his Maarab residence with Ukraine’s newly appointed ambassador to Lebanon, Roman Horianinov, on a courtesy visit. The meeting was attended by former MP and Executive Committee member Eddy Abi Lamaa, along with Tony Darwish from the LF’s Foreign Relations Department. Discussions covered recent developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as updates on the war in Ukraine.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the ambassador conveyed greetings from Ukraine’s foreign minister, who had previously visited Geagea in Maarab, and presented him with a painting of Kyiv’s Independence Square, symbolizing its historic significance in modern Ukraine.

Separately, Geagea continued his series of meetings with newly elected municipal and local council bodies. He received the municipal council of Chekka (Batroun district), headed by Gaby Boutros for the first three years and Georges Abboud for the remaining three, with Antoine Younes as deputy mayor, in the presence of MP Ghayath Yazbeck, Batroun Union of Municipalities president Roger Yazbeck, LF Batroun coordinator Paul Harb, and Chekka LF Center head Joseph Boulos.

Geagea also met Rabieh Mayor and ATCL president Nabil Karam, ATCL secretary-general Camille Edd©, accompanied by Change Movement head Elie Mahfoud and Antoine Karam, with LF Media and Communications Department head Charles Jabbour, and area coordinator Michel Jammal in attendance.
