Gold Prices Ease on Commodity Index Adjustments, Stronger Dollar

Beirut: Gold prices retreated on Friday under pressure from adjustments to a major commodity index, investor anticipation of upcoming U.S. jobs data, and a stronger dollar, which added to near-term price pressures:

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, spot gold fell 0.4% to $4,464.57 per ounce, despite heading for weekly gains of around 3%, after the precious metal hit a record high of $4,549.71 on December 26. U.S. gold futures for February delivery rose 0.2% to $4,467.60.
