Islamabad: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari received Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar in Islamabad, in the presence of the accompanying Lebanese delegation, for talks on regional developments and efforts to promote stability and dialogue.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hajjar conveyed President Joseph Aoun's greetings to Zardari and expressed appreciation for Pakistan's role in the region, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in security and counter-narcotics efforts.
Zardari expressed concern over continued instability and hostilities in Lebanon and the Middle East, reaffirming Pakistan's support for Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity.
He also reiterated Islamabad's support for diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation, sustainable peace, and the resolution of disputes through dialogue and in accordance with international law.
