Beirut: The office of Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Hajjar, on Monday issued a statement denying rumors circulating about the alleged theft of a ballot box in Akkar during the recent municipal elections.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the statement clarified that all ballot boxes from the North Lebanon and Akkar governorates were securely delivered. This process was conducted under the supervision of the Internal Security Forces, ensuring their safe arrival to the respective registration committees after being counted.
The ministry further emphasized that all circulating claims regarding the theft are completely unfounded and far from the truth, seeking to reassure the public about the integrity of the electoral process.
