Baku: Iran's president has announced that $6 billion in frozen funds currently held in Qatar will be returned as part of a preliminary agreement with the United States aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the terms of the memorandum of understanding are advantageous for Iran, and the benefits of these negotiations will soon become apparent.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Pezeshkian cited a recent speech by President Trump, who acknowledged rights previously denied to Iran, marking a significant shift in the diplomatic stance. Pezeshkian confirmed the imminent return of the $6 billion held in Qatar to Iran.
In addressing regional tensions, Pezeshkian commented on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's expected dissatisfaction with the negotiations held in Switzerland. He also reiterated Iran's stance on nuclear weapons, emphasizing that the country has no intention of developing atomic bombs, aligning with the religious edict of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The president noted that the US requested written assurance of this stance, which Iran has agreed to provide.
