Iran Urges GCC to Support ‘Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone’ in Middle East

Iran: Iran also dismissed the United States and the Israeli government's position on "Iran's peaceful nuclear program" as false allegations.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Iranian foreign ministry has called on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to back its proposal for establishing a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East. The ministry criticized the alignment of GCC countries with policies that depict Iran as a threat.

The Iranian government stressed that enduring peace and security in the region could only be realized through regional collaboration devoid of external interference. It also condemned the portrayal of Iran's defensive, missile, and drone capabilities as a menace.
