Iran’s President Vows Retaliation for Khamenei’s Assassination


Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned the assassination of Khamenei, describing it as a grievous crime and pledging a decisive response, as per a statement from his office.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Pezeshkian emphasized the significant impact of Khamenei’s killing, stating that it would mark a pivotal moment in the history of the Islamic world and Shiism. The statement conveyed that the leader’s death would ignite a powerful movement against what was described as American-Zionist oppression and crime.



The statement further assured that Iran, bolstered by the support of the Islamic nation and allies worldwide, would ensure those responsible for this act face consequences. Pezeshkian declared that the nation would use all available resources and strength to make the perpetrators regret their actions.



Additionally, President Pezeshkian announced a period of national mourning, including seven days of public holidays, in honor of Khamenei’s memory. This mourning period is set to extend for 40 days, reflecting the significance of the leader’s role in the country and beyond.
