Beirut: The Internal Security Forces (ISF) stated that a man was arrested while attempting to ship nearly 5,000 Captagon pills to Saudi Arabia through a shipping company.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a statement issued by the ISF's Public Relations Division revealed that the Central Anti-Drug Bureau received information about preparations to smuggle narcotics to Saudi Arabia. Following surveillance and monitoring of the shipment, officers arrested the person carrying the package while he was handing it over at the shipping company on July 17, 2026.

The suspect, a Lebanese national born in 1977, was found in possession of approximately 5,000 Captagon tablets. The pills had been professionally concealed inside a flowerpot box.

Legal measures were taken against the suspect, while the investigation remains ongoing under the supervision of the concerned judiciary to identify and arrest the other individuals involved.

This comes as part of ISF's ongoing efforts to track down and arrest individuals involved in drug-related crimes, and within the security plan developed by the Judicial Police Unit to combat this scourge and curb its spread.
