Beirut: The Kataeb's political bureau held its weekly meeting under the chairmanship of party leader Samy Gemayel and issued a statement urging broad national support for the negotiation process initiated by President Joseph Aoun. The party emphasized the need to create political and national conditions necessary for the success of these talks. The primary goals are to consolidate the ceasefire, ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from occupied areas in southern Lebanon, recover prisoners, enable the return of displaced residents to their villages, and ultimately end the war definitively.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the political bureau highlighted the importance of not accepting the continued presence of militia weapons outside the State's authority, regardless of the war's outcome or the negotiation process. Such arms pose a threat to Lebanon's future, stability, economic recovery, and equality among citizens. The bureau also rejected any attempts to monopolize national decision-making, emphasizing the necessity of a strong State that alone holds the authority over matters of war and peace.

The bureau condemned the intimidation campaigns, accusations of treason, and threats by the outlawed Hezbollah militia against political and religious figures, as well as dissenters within its community. These tactics, the bureau stated, have failed to silence calls for a sovereign and independent Lebanese State that exercises full national authority. The bureau insisted that these campaigns would not deter opponents from challenging efforts to place Lebanon under Iranian influence.
