Beirut: The Kataeb's Political Bureau convened its weekly meeting under the leadership of party head Samy Gemayel to address the latest political, security, and economic developments in Lebanon. Following the discussions, the bureau released a statement urging the government to take decisive action to protect the Lebanese people and ensure that arms remain under the control of legitimate State authorities.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the Political Bureau calls on the government to enforce its decisions by classifying Hezbollah's militia as an illegal armed organization and directing the Lebanese army to be deployed across the entire nation. The bureau emphasized the importance of extending State authority to all Lebanese territories, starting from secure areas and encompassing the entire country.

The bureau also expressed solidarity with the calls from southern Lebanon, particularly from Nabatiyeh, advocating for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the placement of weapons exclusively under State control. The bureau stressed that these measures are crucial to safeguarding the city and its residents from the fate of towns that have faced devastation, occupation, and depopulation.

Furthermore, the Political Bureau highlighted the necessity of a comprehensive reform process to rejuvenate Lebanon's public administration and economy. The bureau urged the government to expedite administrative, financial, and banking reforms to restore the functionality of State institutions, revitalize the economy, and help remove Lebanon from the Financial Action Task Force's grey list.

In addition, the bureau commemorated the anniversary of President Bashir Gemayel's assassination, calling on the Lebanese populace to participate in a gathering at Sassine Square. The event aims to reaffirm the commitment to a vision of a free and sovereign Lebanon, where a strong State holds exclusive authority over arms and national decision-making, uniting its citizens under constitutional legitimacy.
