Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam commemorated the anniversary of the 1999 assassination of four Lebanese judges-Hassan Othman, Walid Harmoush, Assem Abou Daher, and Ibrahim Eid-by renewing his pledge to uphold justice and judicial independence.
According to National News Agency Lebanon, in a statement, Prime Minister Salam emphasized that the legacy of the slain judges continues to inspire efforts to ensure accountability and strengthen the rule of law in Lebanon.
In turn, President Joseph Aoun honored the four judges assassinated in Sidon, describing their loss as a deep wound in Lebanon’s conscience. He praised their sacrifice for judicial independence and condemned the terrorist act, vowing that justice will triumph and the perpetrators will be held accountable.
