Beirut: The Lebanese Red Cross announced that, in anticipation of New Year's Eve, its ambulance and emergency teams have been placed on full alert across all centers and operations rooms nationwide. The deployment includes around 190 ambulances and nearly 800 male and female paramedics.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, for mountainous areas, a number of four-wheel-drive vehicles have been designated to ensure readiness in the event of snowstorms. The Red Cross reaffirmed its full preparedness to respond to emergencies via the free hotline 140.

Regarding blood transfusion services, the Spears Center in Beirut and the Tripoli Center in the north will operate 24/7 on New Year's Eve to meet blood demand and receive donors. Information is available through hotline 1760.

The Red Cross urged citizens to adhere to public safety guidelines, warning of increased risks of heart attacks, traffic accidents, and carbon monoxide poisoning during celebrations, and wished everyone safe and joyful holidays.
