Beirut:At the 2026 Lebanese-Syrian Investment Forum in Beirut, Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Bisat, representing President General Joseph Aoun, highlighted the historical ties and shared experiences between Lebanon and Syria. He emphasized the importance of utilizing these ties to transform geographical proximity into economic opportunities.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Bisat underscored the potential for "clearer and more balanced" relations between the two nations, advocating for a shift from mere intentions to concrete institutional and practical implementations.

Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Mohammad Nidal Shaar addressed the forum, stating that economic integration should not compromise the unique advantages of each country. He emphasized that a stable Lebanese economy is beneficial for Syria as well, advocating for a redefined economic relationship that respects both nations' sovereignty and national interests.

Syrian Charg© d'Affaires to Lebanon, Iyad Hazzah, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the necessity of an investment partnership. He stressed that integrating Lebanon's service and logistics strengths with Syria's resources is crucial for comprehensive economic development and stability.
