Beirut: MP Fouad Makhzoumi has publicly called for decisive action from the Lebanese state following Ambassador Tom Barrack’s recent statements on Lebanon. In a post on the “X” platform, Makhzoumi emphasized the need for the state to transition from being a hesitant mediator to a decisive decision-maker during this critical time for the nation.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Makhzoumi advocated for the state to take bold steps, including disarmament, extending authority over its territory and borders, and dismantling illegitimate military and security structures. He warned that failure to act could result in Lebanon being relegated to a political and economic limbo. Makhzoumi stressed that the Lebanese people are anticipating decisive actions that transcend temporary crisis management and time-buying strategies.
