Yarzeh: Defence Minister, Major General Michel Menassa, met with Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon Yokota Kenji to discuss the current developments and challenges facing Lebanon and the region amid exceptional circumstances.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Japanese ambassador expressed hope for stronger bilateral relations and voiced support for ongoing and upcoming negotiations aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire. During the meeting, Menassa thanked Japan for its continued support to Lebanon and the Lebanese army, particularly highlighting Japan's assistance in mine clearance and military medical aid.
In addition to his meeting with Ambassador Kenji, Menassa also engaged in discussions with former MP Hadi Hobeiche, focusing on national and development issues. Furthermore, the defence minister held separate talks with Change Movement leader Elie Mahfoud to address political developments and challenges facing Lebanon.
