Beirut: Minister of Social Affairs, Haneen Al-Sayed, on Wednesday met with Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud, in the presence of Head of Beirut Municipality, Ibrahim Zeidan, and members of Beirut Municipal Council, to discuss ways to strengthen the social and humanitarian response in the capital, Beirut.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting reportedly addressed the displacement dossier and the coordination of efforts between the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Disaster Management Unit in Beirut Governorate, within an organized approach that preserves the dignity of displaced persons and ensures a more effective response to their needs.
It was also agreed to move forward with opening social service centers in Beirut, which expands the Ministry's presence on the ground, brings services closer to citizens, and strengthens the social protection network for the residents of the capital and the most vulnerable groups.
