Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Wednesday met with a delegation from the Akkar municipal federations to discuss development needs in one of Lebanon's most deprived regions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Joumeh municipal federation head Adnan Melhem stated that Salam recognized Akkar as an emblem of marginalization and assured advancement on several critical projects. Salam confirmed that the specifications for the Ren© Moawad Airport project in Qlayaat would be released on May 13, with construction anticipated to commence within 90 days.
Melhem expressed optimism about Salam's upcoming visit to northern Lebanon next week, expecting it to encompass a comprehensive development plan for Akkar and the broader northern region.
