Beirut: Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, engaged in a series of high-profile meetings addressing pressing issues concerning media relations and governance. He met with the Ambassador of Finland to Lebanon, Anne Meskanen, to discuss regional developments and bilateral media relations between Lebanon and Finland.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Morcos handed Ambassador Meskanen a memorandum of protest concerning the Israeli targeting of journalists. The memorandum included a list of Lebanese journalists who have been killed or injured, and Morcos sought the ambassador's support for Lebanon's position. The meeting also explored potential cooperation between "Radio Lebanon" and Finland's national radio.
In another significant meeting, Minister Morcos received a delegation from the "Observatory of Public Service and Good Governance" at Saint Joseph University of Beirut. Led by Professor Pascal Monin, the delegation discussed the Observatory's role in communicating reforms and the Ministry's efforts in governance. Monin highlighted the progress towards a cooperation memorandum with the Ministry, emphasizing a shared commitment to administrative reform and good governance.
Additionally, Morcos met with Sheikh Talal Al-Daher, head of the Arab Tribes Cultural Forum in Lebanon. Al-Daher stressed the need for a unified national discourse and applauded the Minister's efforts in enhancing the role of responsible national media.
