National Commission for Lebanese Women and LAU Forge Partnership for Gender Equality


Beirut: The National Commission for Lebanese Women, represented by First Lady Neemat Aoun, has entered into a significant partnership by signing a memorandum of cooperation with the Lebanese American University, represented by its president Chaouki Abdallah. This agreement signifies a concerted effort to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment initiatives in Lebanon.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the agreement outlines a collaborative framework between the commission and the university’s Arab Institute for Women (AiW). The primary focus of this cooperation includes fostering gender equality, promoting women’s empowerment, and engaging in joint research and publications. Furthermore, both parties have committed to exchanging data and organizing joint awareness activities, conferences, and workshops to further their shared objectives.



In addition to these initiatives, the agreement also encompasses cooperation in student training. The National Commission for Lebanese Women will offer internship opportunities to LAU students, thereby providing practical experience and exposure to the field of gender studies and women’s rights advocacy.
