Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam held discussions with Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sjoerd Sjoerdsma at the Grand Serail. The meeting included the presence of Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon, Frank Mollen.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Sjoerdsma briefed Prime Minister Salam on his activities during his visit to Lebanon, highlighting his trip to southern Lebanon. He discussed his engagements with officials from the Ministries of Social Affairs and Agriculture, where the focus was on supporting displaced people and the affected agricultural sector.
The talks emphasized the return, recovery, and reconstruction efforts in southern Lebanon, alongside the government's initiatives to implement reforms and bolster state institutions. Prime Minister Salam expressed gratitude for Dutch support in the state-led recovery process. He stressed the need for international backing to ensure residents can stay on their land and facilitate the return of displaced individuals to their villages.
