PM Nawaf Salam Leads Strategic Meeting on Beirut Port and Public Transport

Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam chaired a meeting with key figures, including Mohamad-Ali Kabbani, Chairman of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), Marwan Naffi, Chairman and Director General of Beirut Port, Ibrahim Zeidan, Beirut Municipality Head, and Judge Marwan Abboud, Beirut Governor. The meeting was convened to discuss strategic initiatives related to the development of the Port of Beirut and public transportation in the capital.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting aimed at fostering coordination among relevant authorities to discuss matters of strategic importance. The main focus was on integrating port operations with urban mobility plans and aligning them with the city's infrastructure priorities.

Key discussions included traffic management, road network development around the port, and measures to facilitate access to Beirut. Efforts to ease congestion and address bottlenecks affecting port operations and traffic flow in the city were also highlighted.

The participants agreed to maintain ongoing coordination and joint technical efforts to develop an integrated framework. This framework is intended to enhance the role of the Port of Beirut and improve mobility and connectivity across the capital.
