Annaya: The Superior General of the Lebanese Maronite Order, Abbot Hadi Mahfouz, welcomed His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to the Monastery of Saint Maroun, Annaya, expressing the joy of the Order and the faithful at this blessed visit.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, following the reception, the Pope delivered a brief address, saying: “We ask for peace for the world, and we pray especially for Lebanon and the entire East. Let us remember: there is no peace without dialogue and conversation.”

He added: “O Lord, who granted Saint Charbel to preserve silence in a hidden life and be enlightened by the light of truth, grant us, who follow his example, to journey through the desert of the world in the good fight of faith.”
