Beirut:President Joseph Aoun engaged in discussions on Lebanon's pressing security, economic, and developmental issues in a series of meetings with political and local leaders.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, MP Michel Douaihy met with President Aoun to address the country's security challenges, which are compounded by regional tensions and difficult economic conditions. Douaihy emphasized the importance of national efforts to safeguard stability and promote economic recovery through anticipated financial reforms.
In a separate meeting, Mayor Mohammad Mheidli informed President Aoun about the impact of Israeli attacks on his town. The attacks resulted in the destruction of 42 residential units, damage to municipal vehicles, and the displacement of residents. President Aoun expressed the state's commitment to supporting the resilience of the affected southern communities.
Former MP Hadi Hobeish also met with President Aoun to discuss diplomatic strategies aimed at achieving the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory. The discussion also covered the need to place arms under state control, address the electricity crisis, and secure financing for the Akkar coastal highway. Hobeish highlighted the highway's importance for the Akkar region and the René Mouawad Airport in Kleyat.
