Baabda:President of the Republic Joseph Aoun held a meeting with Democratic Gathering bloc Secretary MP Hadi Abou Al-Hassan at Baabda Palace to discuss various issues affecting Lebanon and the region, including national dialogue and development projects.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions highlighted the importance of fostering dialogue among Lebanon's political and sectarian communities to strengthen national unity in the face of increasing regional tensions.

The conversation also touched upon the potential risks posed by a renewed military confrontation between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the necessity of protecting Lebanon from the repercussions of any regional escalation.

Additionally, the meeting addressed development initiatives, with particular emphasis on the solar power generation project in Upper Metn. The technical study for this project has been completed, and preparations are underway to initiate and implement the project. This initiative is expected to aid development in Upper Metn's towns and villages, boost local stability, and meet some of the area's electricity demands.
