Beirut: In his address at the opening of the “Beirut One” conference, President Joseph Aoun emphasized the commencement of genuine reforms aimed at revitalizing Lebanon. He welcomed participants from Lebanon and around the world, underscoring the conference as a pivotal moment in Lebanon’s renaissance centered on trust, partnership, and opportunities.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun highlighted the implementation of fundamental laws to enhance transparency and accountability. He stated that Lebanon is actively working on rebuilding state institutions based on competence and legal adherence, emphasizing the importance of monitoring and accountability to safeguard resources and protect both investors and citizens.
President Aoun expressed Lebanon’s commitment to restoring its role as a significant economic and cultural hub by fostering partnerships and strengthening its position on the regional and international business map. He called for collaboration between the public and private sectors, noting that the state should facilitate and ensure integrity, allowing the private sector to spearhead innovation and job creation.
He also mentioned the new national vision launched by the Minister of Economy, Dr. Amer Bisat, in collaboration with the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, which outlines a realistic and implementable plan for Lebanon’s growth. The vision aims to leverage Lebanon’s strategic location, human resources, and opportunities in various sectors.
The ‘Beirut One’ conference, themed ‘Beirut is rising again,’ took place at the Beirut Seaside arena, gathering ministers, deputies, ambassadors, and leaders from economic and trade sectors to contribute to Lebanon’s recovery and development. The event began with the national anthem, followed by speeches from Charles Arbid, head of the Economic and Social Council, and Dr. Amer Bisat, Minister of Economy.
