Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, engaged in discussions with Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal regarding the security situation in the country, especially focusing on the south. This comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks on southern villages and towns, which have targeted official, healthcare, and educational facilities.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions also covered the status of the military institution and the preparations for an upcoming preliminary meeting for the international conference in support of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces. This preparatory meeting is set to occur in Paris on September 17, 2026.
