President Joseph Aoun Engages in Comprehensive Discussions on Security, Technology, and Health Affairs

Baabda: Baabda Palace witnessed a series of meetings on Monday morning focusing on ministerial, parliamentary, security, and social affairs. President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met with various ministers to discuss key issues affecting the nation.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun held a meeting with Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar to review the security situation across the country. Discussions centered around measures aimed at preserving stability and plans to enhance security arrangements, especially in Beirut. Minister Hajjar briefed the president on the efforts of security agencies to combat drug trafficking, including operations aimed at dismantling smuggling networks and strengthening border controls.

The meeting also addressed recovery measures being implemented by the Interior Ministry to facilitate the return of displaced residents to their villages while maintaining public order. These efforts are coordinated with municipalities in southern Lebanon to ensure a safe and orderly return process.

In another significant meeting, President Aoun reviewed administrative and organizational matters with Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants. Discussions included progress on various international and domestic priorities.

The President also met with Minister of Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadeh, who updated him on the ministry's progress in issuing decrees and legislation. The discussion included technology projects, coordination with other ministries, and the ministry's work plan for the coming months. Minister Shehadeh highlighted the draft law establishing the Ministry of Technology and Artificial Intelligence, which enjoys the president's full support.

Public Health Minister Dr. Rakan Nassereddine also met with President Aoun to review the state of the healthcare sector in Lebanon. Discussions covered government hospitals, cooperation with healthcare unions, and efforts to ensure healthcare services to citizens.

Additionally, President Aoun engaged with MP Alain Aoun on the latest domestic developments. MP Aoun expressed his support for the president's efforts to navigate Lebanon through its current challenges.

Separately, President Aoun was briefed by Beirut Airport Security Chief Brig. Gen. Fadi Kfoury on the situation at Rafik Hariri International Airport. The President commended the efforts of the Airport Security Directorate and reaffirmed his support for measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.

Lastly, President Aoun received Father Georges Al-Ters and a delegation from the Pontifical Mission Societies in Lebanon. The delegation briefed the president on their mission to support young churches and assist missionaries, reflecting the institution's dedication to serving humanity.
