Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received a phone call from Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during which they discussed the current developments in Lebanon and the region, with a focus on efforts to end the war in Lebanon. The discussions were held in light of the framework agreement reached through the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Washington.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Prime Minister Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece's support for the framework agreement and the positions adopted by President Aoun and the Lebanese government. Greece expressed readiness to assist Lebanon in overcoming its challenges, particularly by supporting the Lebanese Army. Mitsotakis highlighted that the Greek Minister of Defense has been tasked with coordinating with his Lebanese counterpart on this matter.
President Aoun expressed gratitude for Greece's supportive positions and emphasized the historic relations and bonds of friendship between Lebanon and Greece.
