Beirut: A protest organized by the Khiam Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture took place in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Hamra. The event, titled ‘Against Silence, Complicity, and Conspiracy,’ aimed to raise awareness about the plight of Palestinian prisoners.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the protest was complemented by a separate solidarity gathering organized by Islamic Jihad and the Friends of Yahya Skaf Committee. This gathering occurred at the Yahya Skaf monument located at the Minieh entrance. Both events sought to highlight issues faced by Palestinian prisoners and advocate for their rights.

Simultaneously, a series of religious and socio-political events unfolded across the city. A parliamentary session led by MP Halima Kaakour under the Education Committee convened in Parliament. Religious observances included the Holy Thursday Mass and the Washing of the Feet at St. George Maronite Cathedral, led by Bishop Paul Abdel Sater, and the Holy Passion Gospels Service at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, presided over by Metropolitan Elias Audeh.

The day’s events also featured a Labor Rights Forum hosted by FENASOL, focusing on wages and benefits, and a panel and book launch titled ‘Of Course, Palestine’ at Serenada Hotel, organized by Moumken and Fikr House. Holy Week rites continued at St. John Chrysostom Church, led by Metropolitan Georges Bacouni, marking a day of significant religious, cultural, and political activities in the city.
