Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, has confirmed that Lebanon is preparing for a significant influx of expatriates this summer, with efforts underway to ensure optimal conditions at Rafic Hariri International Airport.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Rasamny assured that security at the airport is fully under control. He mentioned that within three months, the road leading to the airport would see a noticeable aesthetic improvement. The minister also highlighted that a proper mechanism for appointing members to the Civil Aviation Authority’s regulatory board has been finalized and will be implemented within a few months.
Regarding the airport’s infrastructure, Rasamny revealed that improvements are already in progress, with a comprehensive plan set to launch in the coming weeks aimed at upgrading facilities and services. A French company has been contracted to enhance the performance of airport security scanners, addressing delays caused by slow processing.
Additionally, Rasamny stated that airport personnel would soon receive specialized training in tourism services, further preparing the airport to accommodate the anticipated increase in travelers.
