Rasamny Urges IMO Action, Says Targeting Naqoura Fishing Port Violates International Law and Conventions

Naqoura: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Tuesday said the targeting and destruction of the fishing port in the southern town of Naqoura, a civilian facility serving local fishermen and their primary source of livelihood, constitutes a violation of international laws, principles and agreements, and has led to a complete halt of maritime activity in the area.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rasamny added that the International Maritime Organization has been notified, calling for necessary measures within its mandate to protect civilian maritime facilities and prevent further such attacks and their humanitarian and economic repercussions.
