Gaza: Officials in Gaza said that at least eight people, most of them children, were killed and more than 12 wounded in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday in an Israeli missile strike that the military said was caused by a misfired rocket.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Israeli military said it was targeting a Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant in the area, but the rocket malfunctioned, causing it to land “tens of meters from its target.”
“The Israeli military regrets any harm caused to civilians,” it added in a statement, noting that the incident is under review.
