Beirut: Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Friday said the agreement establishing the Lebanese-Syrian Joint Higher Committee, signed with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, aims to strengthen bilateral relations through state-to-state cooperation.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam expressed that the agreement is based on the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, non-interference in internal affairs, and good neighborly relations. He conveyed his congratulations to the people of both nations, referring to them as "brotherly peoples."
