Beirut: Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday met MP Michel Moawad and a delegation from northern Lebanon. Following the meeting, Moawad voiced full support for Salam, praising his leadership and backing government decisions to confine arms to the state and consider direct negotiations with Israel to end recurrent wars.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Moawad emphasized that Lebanon faces a clear choice between state institutions and armed groups, stressing his support for sovereignty, the army, and a unified national decision. He rejected accusations against negotiations, arguing that Lebanon has engaged in such talks previously, and insisted that the country must decide its future independently.
Moawad reaffirmed his commitment to coexistence under one state and one army, calling for this conflict to be the last and advocating for a shift toward stability and prosperity.
