Beirut: Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salamé chaired a meeting at his office in the National Library, attended by Director General of Cultural Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Samad and members of the special committee tasked with selecting the film that will represent Lebanon in the International Feature Film category at the 2027 Academy Awards. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting followed the minister's decision to appoint a committee of specialists, chaired by the Director General of Cultural Affairs. After discussing a number of issues related to the selection process, Salamé stressed "the importance of applying international standards and ensuring transparency and objectivity in selecting the Lebanese film to be nominated for the Oscars."
