Druze Sheikh Al-Aql, Dr. Sami Abil-Muna, affirmed that “the Druze are the mediators of the accord and the founders of the country, and will remain the link between all sects and will not be in confrontration with anyone so as to preserve the homeland.”

“Our task is to unite, not divide, and our message is of patriotism and brotherhood, not quarrel and disharmony,” he said.

Abil-Muna’s words came during a tour he made yesterday to a number of villages and towns in the Rashaya region.

In his delivered words before the townsmen and dignitaries he met, the Druze spiritual leader underlined the importance of “adhering to the land, values and belief as constants for educating our rising generations, which were followed by our righteous predecessors.”

He stressed that “no matter how severe the difficulties and how long the state abandons us, we are committed to our faith and values and are cohesive in our society.”
