Strong Lebanon Bloc Engages in Dialogue with President Joseph Aoun on Key National Issues

Baabda: A delegation from the Strong Lebanon bloc visited President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace to discuss critical national matters, including negotiations with political parties and a proposed general amnesty law. During the meeting, the delegation briefed President Aoun on the bloc's "Lebanon Protection Proposal."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, MP Cesar Abi Khalil conveyed the delegation's perception of clear presidential support for ongoing dialogue efforts. He reiterated the Free Patriotic Movement's commitment to pursuing negotiations as the primary means to achieve a ceasefire and safeguard Lebanon. Abi Khalil emphasized that diplomacy remains the sole viable option in the current scenario.

The delegation expressed strong opposition to campaigns targeting the presidency, underscoring that the president's position is a "red line" that should not be crossed. This stance reflects the bloc's determination to uphold the dignity and authority of the presidential office amidst growing political challenges.

Discussions also encompassed the contentious issue of a general amnesty law. Both sides highlighted the importance of addressing injustices through established legal and judicial processes rather than adopting broad amnesty measures that might lead to impunity. This approach aims to ensure accountability and uphold the rule of law in Lebanon's complex political landscape.
