Damascus: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa received the UN Security Council delegation and several UN officials at the People’s Palace in Damascus, with several Syrian ministers in attendance.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the visit highlights the international community’s support for Syria during its reconstruction phase and its commitment to the country’s sovereignty and stability. The delegation’s arrival in Damascus marks a significant moment in Syria’s efforts to rebuild and reestablish diplomatic relations.

Shortly after arriving in Damascus, the delegation toured the Jobar neighborhood, surveying the widespread destruction caused by bombardment under the former regime. This visit underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Syria as it works towards recovery and rebuilding its infrastructure.

Later in the day, the delegation visited several historical sites in Old Damascus, including the Beit al-Wali Hotel in Bab Touma and the Umayyad Mosque. These visits signify the international community’s interest in preserving Syria’s cultural heritage amid its recovery efforts.
