Beirut: MP Taymour Jumblatt has expressed concern over recent media practices, emphasizing the necessity for ethical standards in the expression of opinions. In a post on “X”, Jumblatt highlighted the condemnation of incitement, insults, and attacks on religious authorities that have surfaced in some media discourse and on social media platforms. He warned that these actions place Lebanon in a position of additional worrying risks that are unbearable.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Jumblatt stressed the serious phase that Lebanon is currently undergoing, urging the media to assume its national responsibilities at this critical juncture. He called for the media to adhere strictly to ethical standards when expressing opinions and presenting ideas, avoiding defamation or accusations of treason. Jumblatt further advocated for responsible media and political discourse as essential measures to safeguard national unity and prevent strife.
