Beirut: 113 Israeli projectiles fired on southern Lebanon yesterday, highest number since June 21
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, UNIFIL reported that peacekeepers have been witnessing daily violations of Lebanese airspace and military activities on the ground. The statement highlighted that the 113 projectiles launched by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) represent the highest number recorded by UNIFIL since June 21.
The statement also noted that despite the increased projectile activity, the level of violence in the region remains significantly lower compared to previous months. However, the overall situation is still fragile. UNIFIL peacekeepers are continuing their efforts to monitor and report developments to the Security Council. They remain active in maintaining their operational tempo and are actively engaging with all parties involved to help reduce tensions.
The organization emphasized the importance of commitment to Resolution 1701, along with continued dialogue and coordination, as crucial measures for de-escalation and restoring full stability in southern Lebanon.
