Yazigi to Pope Leo: Welcome to Lebanon, Land of Coexistence

Beirut: In his address during the ecumenical meeting at Martyrs’ Square, Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox Church welcomed Pope Leo XIV, saying: “Welcome to the land where the Cross of Christ was planted. Welcome to Lebanon, this unique country that breathes life in its Christian and Muslim environments, a country of coexistence and diverse communities that blend together to form Lebanon.”

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Lebanon is seen as a significant event promoting unity and understanding among different religious communities. The ecumenical meeting at Martyrs’ Square was attended by various religious leaders and dignitaries, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation in the region.
