Beirut: In his address during the ecumenical meeting at Martyrs’ Square, Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox Church welcomed Pope Leo XIV, saying: “Welcome to the land where the Cross of Christ was planted. Welcome to Lebanon, this unique country that breathes life in its Christian and Muslim environments, a country of coexistence and diverse communities that blend together to form Lebanon.”

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Lebanon is seen as a significant event promoting unity and understanding among different religious communities.
