Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Thursday conveyed to a visiting ministerial delegation from Qatar, France, and Britain that Lebanon’s stability is crucial not only for the region but also for Europe. He highlighted that enduring stability in both regions hinges on a stable Lebanon.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Aoun emphasized the ongoing need for international support, particularly for the Lebanese Armed Forces and security agencies, which he described as fundamental to security and stability. He identified them as a crucial element in Lebanon’s path to recovery.
The President reiterated that Lebanon prioritizes economic, financial, administrative, and judicial reforms. He acknowledged that the outbreak of war had temporarily hindered the reform agenda initiated after the government’s formation.
Aoun further stated that Lebanon requires investment more than aid, expressing confidence in the significant role the Lebanese diaspora will play in rebuilding the nation once a reform-driven environment is established. He mentioned that Lebanon’s current focus is on restoring international confidence while rebuilding citizens’ trust in their institutions.
