Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday emphasized ongoing efforts to restore access for Lebanese products to Arab markets, with a particular focus on the Gulf region. He highlighted the necessity of regaining trust in Lebanon through internal reforms as a critical step towards achieving this goal.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, during a meeting at Baabda Palace with newly appointed members of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Aoun underscored that Lebanon's crisis is primarily rooted in a lack of trust both domestically and internationally. He insisted that meaningful reform must originate from within the country, pointing out that Lebanon's human resources are its most valuable asset.

Aoun also voiced optimism that the ongoing crisis, along with the hardships faced by Lebanese citizens, particularly those in the south, would be resolved soon. He expressed a desire for Lebanon to return to a prosperous and stable path.

In a separate engagement, Aoun held meetings with outgoing Swiss ambassador Marion Weichelt and former minister Boutros Harb.
