Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday received a phone call from Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon following the ceasefire.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Emir expressed his support for Aoun’s positions and steps aimed at de-escalating the situation. The discussions focused on direct negotiations to halt hostilities, secure Israeli withdrawal from southern areas, and enable the Lebanese Army to deploy along the border.

The Emir reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and its readiness to assist the Lebanese people during this critical time. The conversation also highlighted Qatar’s ongoing humanitarian assistance, especially for displaced citizens.

President Aoun expressed his gratitude for Qatar’s unwavering support and humanitarian efforts. Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining close contact to ensure continued cooperation and support in the future.
