Lebanon: Lebanon’s Army Commander General Rudolph Haykal, on Wednesday received the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Sandra De Waele, with an accompanying delegation, at his Yarzeh office. Discussions reportedly touched on developments in Lebanon and the region, and ways to support the army.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, during the meeting, Ambassador De Waele stressed “the European Union’s continued support for the military institution,” praising “the army’s pivotal role in ensuring security and stability in Lebanon.” The army chief, for his part, valued “the European Union’s support for Lebanon and the army, under the current circumstances.”
